A Message from Barry Madigan,
Chairman, Polytechnic FC.
To all members, former members and friends of Polytechnic FC.
Introducing the Polytechnic FC ‘1875’ Club.
A new initiative for friends and supporters of Polytechnic FC
As some of you are aware the club have created an ‘1875 Club’ aimed at former players and friends of the club, who will become social members of the club, and current players who want to offer additional support over and above the regular membership rate.
The primary purpose of this club is to help generate additional revenue so that we are able to keep the cost down to the younger playing members and make football more affordable for them, which is part of our charitable purpose and also to keep the club in sound financial health.
As you are probably aware, fewer people are playing 11 a-side football these days and many historic amateur clubs have folded or declined significantly in recent years.
We want to avoid that and to sustain Polytechnic FC for present and future generations to enjoy as we have all enjoyed it. We hope we can count upon your support in sustaining the club.
Being part of the 1875 club will give priority to members to apply for tickets to FA affiliated matches, such as FA cups and England games, including World Cups and European Championship matches.
We will also hold 1875 Club days where we invite 1875 club members, friends and family to the club to watch games and catch up with people they may not have seen in a while.
Optionally, there will be a prize draw which is an additional £10 a year to take part and only this money will be used for the prize fund. There will be a special introductory prize of a Poly commemorative scarf (a tasteful dress scarf rather than a football scarf). There will also be a draw at Christmas with a single prize of £250 and a further draw at the end of the season for the balance of the prize fund which should be a further £250.
The 1875 club membership is £30 a year. Entry to the prize draw is an additional £10/year (note that we keep these separate owing to the tax laws concerning Gift Aid donations and competitions/prizes).
Please can you forward this to any former members of the Poly that you know.
How to Join the 1875 Club!
Membership to the ‘1875 Club’ will cost £30 a year for social members and an extra £30 on top of the usual annual subscriptions for playing members. This would be a donation towards the club funds which we can claim Gift Aid for if you are a UK taxpayer. We will send you a Gift Aid Declaration which you can complete if you wish to gift aid.
The preferred method is to set up Direct Debits via these links….
The direct debits will be taken once a year, you may of course cancel them at any time via your bank.
If you should wish to pay by any other method please contact me or a member of the committee.
Many thanks on behalf of the club if you are prepared to take part.
